About London Development Agency
London is a city of contrasts - it has the UK's highest productivity rate, the world's 4th largest economy and a gross value added of over £160 billion a year. Its global transport links are second to none, the skills and diversity of its people is world class, and the educational institutions in the city are world class.

However, London also faces challenges; population expansion; rising costs; housing shortages; insufficient and outdated transport infrastructure; the highest child poverty rate in the country.

These are the challenges we at the London Development Agency must tackle head-on. As the Mayor's agency responsible for driving London's sustainable economic growth - it's our job to ensure that London remains a global success story - in the next year, the next decade and in the next century. We work to deliver the Mayor's vision for London to be a sustainable world city with strong, long-term economic growth, social inclusion and active environmental improvement.
To help do this, we produce the Mayor's Economic Development Strategy for London, which sets out the Mayor's vision in detail and also sets the context for our work. The strategy is based on four basic themes, which all connect with each other.

They are:
Investment in places and infrastructure to deliver more effective infrastructure for future growth and create healthy, sustainable, high-quality communities. We are investing in the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games as part of our effort to regenerate the Lower Lea Valley and the wider Thames Gateway.
Investment in people to tackle the barriers to employment that still affects too many Londoners. On 10 March we rolled out the Diversity Works campaign to tackle discrimination in all its forms - against disabled people, older people, women, and people from BME communities.
Investment in enterprise will tackle the barriers to enterprise start-up, growth and competitiveness. We want to maintain London's position as a key enterprise and trading location; to support new business start-ups and medium-sized business growth.

Finally, investment in marketing and promotion is about harmonising the way we promote this city to the rest of the UK and the outside world. We aim to maintain and develop London as a top international destination and the principal UK gateway for tourism, education and investment.
London's issues are too big for us to tackle alone. Our annual budget of around £400 million a year is relatively small in relation to the scale of challenges facing London. Therefore we must make selective and crucial interventions. Much of our work is based on leveraging our budget and brokering solutions from other public and private sector resources. We work extensively with partners and are always seeking new partnerships.

New London College (NLC) is an innovative, dynamic educational institution which offers various Professional, Business and IT programs to both students as well as corporates within UK and also to International students from all parts of the World who wish to study in United Kingdom.
NLC was created on the belief that the best education is shaped by a student's own interests. We integrate the talents of our students with their personal visions and aspirations with the overarching goal of preparing them for top class International educational. Every aspect of NLC is designed to free your imagination and spur your initiative. NLC develops within its students the capacity to lead and change the world.

A world-class top quality education is the only thing that would differentiate you from competition in today’s professional environment. It is essential to explore your potential and build a strong base for a professional career. NLC enables the students aspiring for top quality education to choose the right course which is probably one of the most important decisions they will ever have to face. We aim to work towards enabling our students in getting the right education in the right environment that would in turn make their future bright.
We enable a broad spectrum of students prepare for a wide range of life pursuits while fostering a passion for knowledge; an understanding and a questioning of cultural values; and a view of themselves as independent, life long learners, and contributors to knowledge and service in an ever-changing world.

NLC is a college for the student who has high personal, intellectual, and career expectations. Beyond this common ground, there is no typical NLC student. Since the College is a multicultural community, students come from all over the world, from different cultures and backgrounds. This diversity is made possible, in large part, by the College's need-blind admission policy. Students are accepted without consideration of their ability to pay. Once admitted, those with demonstrated need receive financial aid through a variety of services.

While the state of a campus’s information technologies, resources, and services will not be the only factor in determining a student’s choice of a college, these aspects of higher education are important, variable, and too often misunderstood. NLC remains at the forefront of technological development. Students and faculty in all disciplines use the College's academic computing facilities in their courses and research. With a strategic alliance with Multinational IT companies like Lucent Infotech, the College’s aim is to provide its students with quality education leveraging its partners’ real time experience in latest technologies.

NLC has made a major commitment to academic excellence. It is in the process of adding faculty positions, increasing student financial aid, introducing new courses and widening opportunities in key programs. Since knowledge and culture are not static, the college also has a continuing commitment to the testing and evaluation of new ideas and innovative methods of teaching and learning.
